  1. I enjoyed the read. It opened my eyes to situations like the little child in the wheelchair Chapter 20 and Chapter 4 the loss of a female friend to a tragic accident.

  2. Congratulations on a fine product. I really enjoyed your book. I find it amazing that your have dedicated so much of you life, to better the lives of those who need it the most. I can see why so many senior lives have been impacted by your personal interactions and your music. The heart brake you have dealt with in the process, and the fact that you are still moving ahead to continue your journey is commendable.

  3. I really enjoyed your book. The stories you tell are so human and touching. I remember visiting you back in the 80s, and going with you to a hospital where you sang for some of the patients. One of them was that young fellow paralyzed from a car accident, and whom you wrote about in your book. I remember him, and it broke my heart to see him lying in bed helpless, with no hope of regaining his mobility. I’m sure your visits and music touched his heart and brought him a measure of peace.

But nothing I’ve read in your book beats, Chapter 10, “The Last Kiss” for laughs. That’s a classic. I’m going to remember Gene Simmons for a long time!

  5. After reading your book I have a comprehensive understanding of your commitment to volunteerism. It has also provided a valuable insight into the dedication you invest in your volunteer work. I have also gained a deeper appreciation for the outcomes of your time and efforts, as well as the transformative power of music. A recurring thought that emerged while reading was the notion that dedicating just eight minutes to someone in need of conversation can significantly enhance their day. I have wondered how many eight-minute moments you have shared.

  6. We really enjoyed your book. Very powerful and heartwarming stories. We are very proud of your dedication to others through your beautiful music.

  7. What a most wonderful book on how the power of song not only heals the hearts of those the author plays for, but also how these experiences have also healed his heart. If anyone ever wondered what volunteer work brings to both the parties, this is the book to read before embarking on that adventure. My congratulations on a wonderfully strewn together narrative!

  8. I have personally seen Henry volunteering/singing to hospital patients, one of them being my aunt with his lovely wife always accompanying him. Needless to say, it was such a pleasure to read his book. It was so interesting to read so many of these stories on how many people Henry has helped with his music – giving people hope, joy, happiness. This world needs more people like Henry and Carole-Anne to volunteer their time to so many seniors who are often forgotten on their last destination. Thank you to both of you and to Henry to have shared with us so many heartfelt stories. You both deserve accolades and thanks.

  9. Chapters 3 and 7 remain vivid in my memory .. each chapter presented a unique narrative. I thoroughly enjoyed it, thank you for the excellent reading experience.

  10. The Healing Power of a Song is a book about how one person can make a difference to many people in need of comfort and joy. All small acts of kindness can leave a lasting impact. You, Henry, have changed lives and put smiles on faces of many seniors over the 40 years.
